When you think of EKU Football there is really one name that sticks out, Roy Kidd. Coach Kidd served as the head coach at Eastern Kentucky University from 1964 to 2002, going 314–124 with eight ties during that span. Kidd’s Eastern Kentucky Colonels won NCAA Division I-AA Football Championships in 1979 and 1982 and were runners-up in 1980 and 1981.
Earlier today Kidd’s family announced that Coach would be moved into hospice care in the next few days. The announcement came courtesy of EKU football providing the update for the family. The Kidd family says they are taking all comfort measures now and thanked everyone for their concerns and prayers.
