A boy was airlifted to a hospital in Lexington earlier this week after accidentally being shot.
The incident occurred off Willie Cheek Road, 10 miles east of London at around 5:30 P.M.
Investigators report that a 14-year-old male accidentally shot another 14-year-old male in the stomach and chest.
According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, the 14-year-old victim was airlifted to UK Medical Center in Lexington in critical condition.
A shotgun was recovered from the scene.
Reports state that he is expected to survive.
