On Wednesday afternoon, Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the Jesse Smith Road area in London to investigate numerous complaints.
Upon arrival, investigators located a male subject, Johnny James Shoup, at the front door of a nearby residence and learned that a female subject, Debbie L. Hubbard, as well as two children were inside the home.

Hubbard was allegedly located in the bathroom armed with a handgun, pointing the weapon towards law enforcement officials. Following a brief struggle, she was disarmed by authorities.
According to the citation, police found suspected controlled substances, marijuana, scales, pipes, and other paraphernalia. 28 long guns, 10 handguns, collectible coins, and a large amount of US currency were also reportedly seized from the house.
Shoup was charged with 1st Degree Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, and Trafficking in Marijuana.
Hubbard was charged with two counts of 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree Trafficking in a Controlled substance, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, and Trafficking in Marijuana.

Both Shoup and Hubbard were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center and social services were notified to assist the children found at the scene.
