According to the Estill County EMA this morning, the Pitts fire is still 100% contained. There is still lots of smoke in the region the fire is still burning, but all is in the containment area.
The Chamberlin fire continues to burn near Ravenna. Forestry officials and fire crews continue to get it under control and contained. Local Firefighters as well as those from surrounding counties continue to assist with containment and protecting property.
There are several fires burning in the region, so smoke will continue to be heavy especially in the valleys. If you see fire or heavy, rolling smoke please call 911. Remember no outdoor burning of any kind is permitted at this time. If you see someone burning, please call 911. Conditions are very dry and any fire can get out of control in seconds.
