The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that this advisory serves as an update for signals within the I-75 project in Madison County.
· The operations for signal activation have been rescheduled.
· The new date and time are below:
Monday, Jan. 6, 2020 – 10 a.m. (time is approximate)
KY 627 at Interstate 75 NB Exit – milepoint 0.195
· Colonel Road will be temporarily closed
o signal operations and locations will not change at this time
KY 627 at the new alignment for Colonel Road/Simpson Lane – milepoint 0.370
· Simpson Lane has been open at this new location for several months
· the current signal has been on flash operation for many weeks:
when fully activated, the signal will be a standard two (2) phase signal
· traffic on Colonel Road will be diverted onto a new road alignment toward the intersection of KY 627 and Simpson Lane
· motorists traveling on KY 627 will be diverted to the westbound lanes:
this will be one lane in each direction, and necessary for the construction of the eastbound lanes to begin
Note: flaggers will be onsite to guide and direct traffic
Motorists are advised to be aware and utilize extra caution in the construction zone.
All work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies, and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
