The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is continuing their investigation into the death of James Allen.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, Jason Smith has been located. Smith’s arrest comes after a tip was received about his location. Acting on the information, a coordinated search was conducted by the Beattyville Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office.
Jason Smith, 39 years old of Beattyville has been charged with Murder and is lodged at Three Forks Regional Jail in Lee County.
