A press conference just concluded by Scottie Pennington of the Kentucky State Police in Berea. Pennington, who has close ties to Berea, was clearly emotional as he urged people in the area to lock their doors, and reminded residents if they “see anything suspicious, if your dogs are acting strangely tonight, contact authorities immediately.”
Pennington stated someone has come into our community and harmed our people in our town.
The press conference confirmed what WBON released earlier, that two people, now confirmed as bank employees, were killed during an apparent armed robbery attempt at US Bank at 630 Chestnut Street in Berea.
The search is intensifying as night closes in for the suspect, still at large. Helicopters, drones, K-9 units, and other resources are all deployed currently in the search. Berea Police, KSP, Madison County Sheriffs units, ATF, and the FBI are all working the case.
