KSP investigating murder of Irvine man in Jackson County

On May 18, just before 3:00 p.m., Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, received a call from Jackson County Sheriff’s Department requesting investigative assistance in regard to a deceased male located inside a vehicle on Richardson Road in McKee.

Kentucky State Police Troopers, Detectives, and Jackson County Coroner Lonnie Hacker responded to the area.

The preliminary investigation has revealed James D. Carmack, 40 years of age, from Irvine, sustained a fatal gunshot wound inflicted by an unknown individual who fled the scene before law enforcement’s arrival. An autopsy will be performed at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort.
