On September 25, 2024, Kentucky State Police Troopers with the AHIDTA Central Kentucky Interdiction Team were conducting operations on I-75 in Madison County. During a traffic stop, troopers observed evidence of criminal activity.
While searching the vehicle, troopers discovered thirty-nine handguns and four rifles inside the car. Further investigation found six of the weapons were reported stolen, and three of the handguns were converted to fully automatic.
KyShawn Maxwell, 20, of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and the United States Attorney’s Office will assist in continuing this investigation.
