Kim Charles appointed as Estill County Clerk as office moves to reopen

Today Estill County Judge Executive Donnie Watson announced the new appointment of County Clerk pro tem for Estill County.

Kim Charles will take over the duties of County Clerk after the unexpected resignation of Brian Crowe last week. 

Charles has 21 years’ experience working in the office under various administrations, including the last few years for Crowe. She also has election work experience which will be needed to oversee the upcoming presidential and general election in the fall.

Charles’ first order of business is opening up brand new accounts for the office, as this transition will be the same as if a new administration is beginning.

County Judge Donnie Watson stated they hope to have the County Clerk’s Office back open for business sometime tomorrow, Wednesday April 3, 2024.
