Big improvements are slated for Wilgreen Lake here in Madison County, and today May 1, 2024, Madison County government officials announced they will be hosting a kickoff ceremony, in collaboration with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, to announce the Wilgreen Lake construction project.
The event will take place tomorrow at 3 rain or shine at Wilgreen Lake, located at 520 Wilgreen Lake Road here in Richmond.
Madison County Judge Executive Reagan Taylor, Madison County Fiscal Court, Rep. Deanna Frazier-Gordon, Commissioner Rich Storm will be there to kick off the project and explain some of the highlights including a new paved parking areas, updated boat ramp, and kayak launch.
The upgrades are made possible from a recent grant of $250,000 The Madison County Fiscal Court and the Division of Fish and Wildlife recently secured for the projects.
Wilgreen Lake Marina is located close to I-75, off of Exit 87. Turn west off I-75, drive 1.6 miles, and turn left onto Curtis Pike. Drive 1.8 miles and turn left on Wilgreen Lake Rd. It is about .5 miles to the lake from there.
