The Kentucky State Police, Post 7, Richmond, is investigating a fatal collision that occurred just before 1:30 a.m. this morning near the intersection of US 27 and East Main Street in Stanford.
Investigators say a vehicle operated by 75-year-old Sandra Arie of Creve Coeur, IL, was traveling south on US 27 in the north bound lane and collided head-on with a vehicle, traveling north on US-27, driven by 19-year-old Alexis Slone of Waynesburg, KY.
As a result of the collision, Arie was fatally injured and pronounced deceased by the Lincoln County Coroner’s Office. Slone was transported to Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford with non-life-threatening injuries.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP personnel.
