Juveniles sustain injuries, face possible charges after collision

On Saturday, September 6, at approximately 7:00 p.m., troopers from Kentucky State Police Post 8 Morehead were staged on I-64 in Bath County conducting traffic enforcement, when according to reports, they observed a white Nissan Altima traveling at excessive speeds in a westbound lane.

A trooper activated their emergency equipment, attempting to stop the vehicle. Before a traffic stop could occur, the Nissan Altima exited I-64 at exit 121 and collided with a maroon minivan near the intersection of KY 36.

The occupants of the minivan, Tiffany N. Spillman, 31, of Owingsville, and Berkley M. Spillman, 30, of Owingsville, were transported to St. Claire Regional Medical Center for their injuries. 

The occupants of the Nissan Altima, four juveniles, were transported to various medical facilities for their injuries. 

Criminal charges are pending at this time. The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Isaiah Bryant.
