This morning in Barbourville, Representative Wesley Morgan officially got his case regarding the illegal transport of alcohol dismissed by a judge. Morgan, who owns five liquor stores across multiple Kentucky counties, told police that he was transporting the alcohol for his business. Under Kentucky law the liquor would have to be in an approved transport vehicle, warranting the representative the charges when he was arrested back in April.
We got a chance to speak to Morgan as he was en route back from Knox county about the news. He remarked that he was not surprised by the ruling, because he had similar charges out of Clay county which were dismissed a few years prior.
Morgan says he is glad to move on now that there will be no further action taken in court.
