Judge-Executive Reagan Taylor Talks Promise of BUILD Project

Several roadways around the region could see significant improvements in the near future, and it’s all because of a promising project referred to as BUILD (Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development).

WBON-TV spoke with Madison County Judge-Executive Reagan Taylor and he told us all about the project, which is a collaborative effort by multiple Central and Eastern Kentucky counties. The scope of the project is not small, as it hopes to secure approximately 22 million dollars in funds for infrastructure improvement.

“We partnered with Lincoln County, Garrard County, Boyle County [and] Jessamine County because we feel like that would really open up a corridor to that Central-Eastern part of our Commonwealth over to I-75”, says Taylor.

As far as Madison County is concerned, Taylor hopes to see Highway 52 extended to the Duncannon Lane Exit located off of I-75. Additionally, a roadway would be installed from Highway 52 that will lead to the Central Kentucky Regional Airport.

Taylor told us that local offices should receive an answer on whether or not their grant request was accepted or denied around the end of October.
