Jailers Undergo Fire Safety Training

The officers at the Madison County Detention Center underwent a two day training course on proper fire extinguisher use.  Madison County Jailer Doug Thomas says that the program will be very helpful for his officers to get hands on experience.  The training program was made with the help of the Madison County Fire Department.  The fire department brought in a rig, provided by RFD that creates a small controlled fire using natural gas that the officers could practice on. 

Jailer Thomas went on to say that fires in the detention center are very rare, but it is always good to be prepared in case of an emergency.
