According to Madison County Sheriff Mike Coyle, Sheriff Deputies responded to the area of 2925 Red House Road in reference to a two-vehicle injury collision Wednesday August 31, 2022.
The initial investigation states Skylan Ballard, age 20, of Irvine KY was operating a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze east bound on Red House Rd. Ballard stated she looked down at her phone, crossing the center line, striking a west bound 1997 Toyota Camry, operated by Austin Eden, age 22, of Richmond, KY. Ballard was trapped in her vehicle due to the violent collision.
Ballard was extricated by the Madison County Fire Department, and treated at the scene and transported to the Baptist Health hospital, by Madison County EMS.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Madison County Fire Department, and Madison County EMS.
