This morning, July 9 the Estill County Sheriff’s Department and the Irvine Police Department responded to West Irvine cemetery in reference to a female taking flower arrangements from the cemetery and putting in her vehicle. The investigation led to the arrest of 43-year-old Hope Johnson of Irvine. She is charged with Violating Graves which is a class D felony.
According to Sheriff Flynn, the female was cooperative and assisted in putting the items back where they belonged. “If anyone sees any suspicious activity at any cemetery I ask that you call dispatch and report it, so that we can try to keep this from happening” Flynn added.
