On Saturday, the Irvine Police Department arrested two individuals they claimed were subjecting children and animals to “obscene living conditions”, per an arrest citation.
Police say they were accompanying Larry Beckler to a Sandhill Road residence to collect his belongings as a condition of an EPO. When authorities arrived to the residence, they observed two separate dog kennels which were housing a German Shepherd each. Officers say the kennels were covered in urine and feces. According to an arrest citation, the feces was “approximately six inches in depth throughout the entire surface area of the kennel”.
Upon observing these conditions, social services were notified and contacted the owner of the residence, Kaitlyn Hinds, who reportedly admitted that the living conditions were “bad”. After an evaluation, two minors who were living in the residence were sent to a separate address.
When both Beckler and Hinds were questioned about the condition of the residence, they reportedly admitted to police that it had gotten progressively worse over the course of a year and that the dogs had not been let out of their kennels in approximately four months.
Beckler and Hinds were place into custody and lodged in the Estill County Jail, before being transported to Three Forks Regional Jail.
