Tuesday afternoon, around 3, Estill County Fire units responded to the Irvine McDonald’s on Richmond Road for reports of smoke.
The restaurant was evacuated while responders investigated.
It was determined it was the first time the heating unit had been activated at the restaurant this season, and there were just some impurities burning off in the duct work.
The restaurant was reopened shortly after.
