A man from Irvine was arrested by Kentucky State Police recently after the troopers received a tip on his location. Harold A. Jones, 29, was found hiding in the back of a home on Edwards Avenue. After struggling and resisting Jones was handcuffed by police. The officers also found Jones to be trying to conceal a substance believed to be methamphetamine. Jones was transported to the Madison County Detention Center but on arrival Jones fled on foot and was later found hiding on First Street. Jones was then returned back to the detention center where he was charged with Second-Degree Escape, Third-Degree Criminal Mischief, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Resisting Arrest in addition to the Controlled Substance Possession charge.
