The Kentucky State Police at Post 12 in Frankfort continues their investigation into the Woodford County collision that left three individuals deceased and three injured on September 12.
The preliminary investigation says a commercial vehicle operated by Matthew Jackson, 43, of Hamilton, OH, struck a white Nissan passenger vehicle operated by Shane Downey, 55, of Frankfort. Mr. Downey was transported by a third party to Georgetown Hospital for non life-threatening injuries. Jackson’s commercial vehicle then continued and struck another passenger vehicle operated by Casey Whitlock, 50, of Georgetown. Ms. Whitlock succumbed to her injuries at the scene and her passenger Angela Curtis, 74, of Cynthiana was transported to Frankfort Regional Medical Center and later airlifted to the University of Kentucky Hospital for further treatment.
The same commercial vehicle continued and struck another commercial vehicle operated by John McBroom, 39, of Crittenden, KY causing McBroom’s vehicle to strike another commercial vehicle operated by John Pryor III, 46, of Powell, TN. Pryor’s commercial vehicle then struck a commercial vehicle operated by Jason Robertson, 21, of Louisville.
Jackson and McBroom both succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.
