An assault took place inside the Jessamine County Detention center on March 18th where an inmate was assaulted by another inmate, resulting in his death.
The inmate which was assaulted was originally sent to the local hospital with serious injuries. The inmate who assaulted the other, Adam Duff, was charged with 1st degree assault. On Wednesday, the inmate who was assaulted passed away from their injuries and his body was sent to a lab where an autopsy took place. The results from this autopsy are still in the works. Duff’s charges are set to be amended within a few days due to the nature of the death and the assault.
