Early Monday morning, staff at the Madison County Detention Center discovered an inmate unresponsive in their cell. The call came in just after midnight Sunday, and after efforts to resuscitate the man failed, the Madison County Coroner was summoned to the scene.
The inmate, a 30 year old male, is from Texas, with no known next of kin and was discovered by staff during routine cell checks. The body has been sent to Frankfort for an autopsy. The investigation into the death continues, as well as the search to find any known family.
Due to the nature of the death, and the attempt to find any family of the man, the identity of that inmate is being withheld at this time.
