Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison tells WBON-TV9 that the autopsy of the inmate has been postponed because of the influx of bodies from eastern Kentucky flooding. The inmate has now been identified as William Randall “Wren” Martin, age 57, from Madison County.
Martin had been incarcerated since Thursday, and reportedly had been in poor health. The inmate also complained about shortness of breath before going into cardiac arrest this morning. The coroner states Martin did have an extensive medical history and no signs of trauma were evident. The final autopsy and toxicology reports will be required before an official cause of death can be determined. That is expected later in the week.

WBON-TV9 has been following developments Sunday of a Madison County Detention Center inmate death earlier today. Although few details have been made available, we have learned that Kentucky State Police Post 7 in Richmond is investigating the death of the inmate, discovered this morning at the Madison County Detention Center.
Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison is also investigating and is in Frankfort awaiting autopsy results at this time. WBON-TV9 is withholding the name and any further details until more official information is available.
