Kentucky State Police have confirmed to WBON-TV9 that human remains were discovered in a burned vehicle this afternoon in the Southfork community of Breathitt County.
According to officials, because of the condition of the remains, it will take some time for a positive identification.
Although the family is receiving condolences for their loss tonight on social media, officials could not confirm at this time if the burned body is connected to the recent missing persons case of Joanie Campbell.
Campbell was last seen at the Marathon station on highway 15 in Jackson on Thursday around 2 p.m. She never made it to her destination and has not been seen since.
