This weekend, two Hitachi workers were recognized by Madison county EMS after they saved the life of one of their coworkers who suffered a heart attack on the job. One employee immediately started doing CPR when Mark Smith fell on the floor while suffering from the heart attack. Another warehouse employee sprung into action and grabbed the AED kit. WBON-TV attended the commemoration and were able to interview all those involved with saving Smith’s life.
By the time EMS arrived on scene, it was obvious had it not been for their quick actions that the situation could have been much different. The two employees were honored by EMS, who emphasized the importance of all being trained to administer the life saving procedures.
