Hines Motel Residents Show Eviction Papers, Still Plan to Reside in Motel Through April

The Madison County Board of Education have bought out the Hines Motel last month for $250,000 and plans to demolish the property in order to provide an area for buses to safely access the Madison Kindergarten Academy.

However, there are still five families living on the property, which is currently mostly boarded up with no trespassing signs posted.

The school board’s attorney visited the site on multiple occasions, serving paperwork initially stating that possible assistance may be granted on March 29th. However, the residents were also served eviction notices with no mention of assistance on April 4th, the day WBON-TV visited and got the interviews with the residents.

Stay tuned as we speak to the Madison County School Board, and will also post the personal testimonies about the lives of those who will still be living at the Hines until the eviction date at the end of the month.
