Local Fire Agencies had their hands full battling a grass and field fire Saturday afternoon in the Red House Road/Boonesboro area. Extremely high winds Saturday fed the fire the fuel it needed to spread rapidly through the grass. Most of the region is still a tinderbox from the severe lack of rain over the last several weeks.
The fire was reported at 262 Lost Fork Road. Several trucks and tankers responded to the scene to control the blaze by Union City, Richmond, and White Hall fire departments.
