High speed pursuit in Madison ends with two arrests, stolen shotgun recovered

This morning around 7:30 a.m., the Madison County Sheriff’s office received a call from Lexington Police requesting mutual aid regarding a possible stolen vehicle traveling on I-75 southbound being operated by a missing juvenile. Sheriff’s officials were also advised the juvenile may be in possession of a stolen shotgun.

Lexington Police advised they were tracking the vehicle utilizing OnStar. The last known location was given as the 99 mile point.  A Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy waited at the 90-mile point and witnessed Lexington Police pass in pursuit of the suspect.  Seargent Josh Petry with the Madison County Sheriff’s office joined the chase and caught up with the pursuit around the 86-mile point.  During this time, the vehicle was confirmed stolen, and Seargent Petry attempted a stop, and the suspect attempted to flee at higher speeds.  The suspect, in his attempt to evade, passed several vehicles on the right-side emergency lane, nearly colliding with construction barrels, according the report.

Officers, still in contact with OnStar, utilized the vehicles deacceleration function, which stopped the suspect without further incident just south of the 80-mile marker. Inside the vehicle was a 12-gauge Remington shotgun that was also confirmed stolen.

The juvenile operator and adult passenger were placed under arrest. The adult has been identified as Christopher Michael Farroni-Tubberville of Mentor Ohio. The juvenile’s identity was not released.

The juvenile was charged with fleeing/evading police 1st degree, wanton endangerment 1st (police officer), speeding 20>, reckless driving, receiving stolen property over $10,000, receiving stolen property (firearm), and no operators license.

The adult is facing receiving stolen property charges, as well as unlawful transaction with a minor 2nd degree.

Madison County Sheriff’s office was assisted during the pursuit by the Lexington Police Department.
