Group of local students donate to CASA

CASA stands for Court Appointed special advocates and recently CASA of Madison and Clark Counties expanded to include more counties from Eastern Kentucky and are now known as CASA of the Wilderness Trail. Lily Purdy has been an avid support of CASA for many years and during the pandemic Lily made bookmarks and sold them out of the drive through at her famils coffee shop, Purdy’s Coffee. For her 7th birthday, she made a donation to CASA from the funds she raised and with the help of some friends has also created the “CASA Club” in order to make a bigger impact for abused and neglected children. Each year they set up and sell items at the Annual Valentine’s Bash at Purdy’s downtown location and over the last five years Lily and the CASA Club has raised over one thousand dollars for CASA of the Wilderness Trail.

The CASA Club today includes Lily, Raegan, Harper, Sydnee, Ester, and Grace and earlier this week made another donation, this time in the amount of $360.

CASA of the Wilderness Trail serves abused, neglected, and dependent children in Madison, Clark, Estill, Lee, and Owsley Counties and for more information or to get involved you can visit madisoncasa.org or like their Facebook page.
