On Sunday Mount Zion Christian Church held “An Afternoon With General Custer”. General Custer was a famous Civil War General who fought in many famous battles. Custer was portrayed by Civil War enthusiast Rick Williams who has portrayed the general since 2003. Williams has appeared as the general on T.V., Movies, and Documentaries.
During the presentation Williams was in character as the general and told the story of the generals military career and his connections with the state of Kentucky. Mount Zion church in particular was used as a hospital for the Battle of Richmond and soldiers who served under Custer were once members of the church.
