It has been a tragic weekend for two separate Garrard County families, as Garrard County has now recorded its second hunting fatality this weekend. WBON-TV reported on the first incident Saturday, and today another man has died.
The accident occurred around 4:30 today, Sunday November 12, 2023. Officials say 26-year-old Benjamin Brogle Jr. of Lancaster was hunting with family on Fisher Ford Road in Northern Garrard County.
The initial findings suggest the young man may have been moving through dense brush this afternoon, when his weapon discharged, fatally injuring him.
Both incidents have occurred since the opening of modern gun season in Kentucky Saturday.
