Fugitive Back Behind Bars Following Standoff with Police

A man that was previously on the run after allegedly cutting his ankle bracelet and escaping custody has now been located by police, following a standoff. According to the post on social media by the Bath County Sheriff’s Department, they were contacted and advised that Terry Wilson was at his residence and was barricaded in a building with a firearm.

Wilson was known by deputies to have multiple felony warrants for his arrest including being wanted for unlawfully removing his ankle monitor and bail jumping. After an hour-long stand off with officers, police say Wilson set the building on fire while still inside.

Soon after, Wilson allegedly kicked the door open, pointed a shotgun at officers, and exited the building. Officers were able to detain Wilson and end the encounter without using force. Wilson had been sentenced to 20 years in Bath Circuit Court, along with other felony charges from Montgomery County prior to this encounter.

Following those charges, Wilson was charged with 11 counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st degree (Police Officer), Arson 3rd Degree, and Felon in possession of firearm.
