The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, was contacted just before 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 3, 2023, in reference to a two-vehicle collision on KY-30 near KY-1411 in Owsley County.
Investigators say a Chevrolet Tracker, being operated by Dennis Neeley, 69, of Booneville, was traveling east on KY-30 and crossed the center line into the path of a Dodge Ram, being operated by Cecil R. Tuner, 57, of Booneville, traveling west.
As a result of the collision, Dennis Neeley, 69, of Booneville, KY, was fatally injured and pronounced deceased on scene by the Jackson County Coroner. Cecil R. Turner, 57 years old of Booneville, operator of the other vehicle, was transported to Kentucky River Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Trooper Tyler Holt is conducting the ongoing collision investigation. He was assisted on scene by Kentucky State Police personnel, Owsley County EMS, Owsley County Fire Department and Owsley County Coroner’s Office.
