If you’ve been experiencing any road woes recently here in Madison County, help is on the way. We spoke with Madison County Judge-Executive Reagan Taylor about discretionary funds that were awarded by the state to fix four different roads around the county.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC), $176,397 in discretionary funds will be awarded to the Madison County Fiscal Court for vital resurfacing work.
“Every little bit helps. And, we really appreciate [Governor Matt Bevin’s] leadership and the Transportation Cabinet in allowing us to have that opportunity,” said Taylor.
Ford Road, Peggy Flats Road, Courage Road, and Moberly Road are the roads that have been selected for repairs. Resurfacing repairs address existing surface cracks, potholes, raveling, and base failures.
Taylor identified these roads as being among the most critical in the county. “Our rating on our roadways in our county is really good”, said Taylor. “We’re just trying to take our worst roads in the county and make them better.”
The funding will allow for nearly four miles of pavement resurfacing work to be completed on the four roads which experience heavy traffic volume and also serve as school bus routes.
