A longtime Madison County judge has passed away. According to a social media post, Judge James S. Chenault was a local staple not just in the courtroom, but in local organizations such as the Battle of Richmond Association and the Madison County Civil War Roundtable.
Chenault was a founding member of the Battlefield association, and they report that he was instrumental in the efforts to preserve the Richmond, Kentucky battlefield.
