Kentucky native and veteran radio personality, Al Snyder, passed away last week on January 18, at the age of 73.
Al Snyder was the host of the popular “Classic Request LIVE show” on 100.7 The Coyote for many years at Wallingford Broadcasting in Richmond. A feature of Al’s show was to air archived interviews with the biggest county music stars and icons of the time. Snyder’s connection to the music stars and his listeners was magic.
Al started his 46-year broadcast career at WNVL in Nicholasville. He eventually purchased the station and was named CMA Small Market Personality of the Year in 1982.
Snyder moved to Nashville in 1990, working in syndication and serving on the CMA board. He later returned to radio and worked here in Richmond, and Jamestown, TN, before retiring.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on January 30, 2025, at Love And Grace Full Gospel Church in Moodyville, TN.
