A Richmond man was recently arrested after it was discovered he had stolen several hundred dollars of merchandise from a local grocery store.
According to the arrest citation, 20 year-old William Mobley had been an employee of the Richmond Kroger since August of 2019. On several occasions during this time, Mobley would reportedly conceal bags of merchandise before leaving the store with them, failing to render payment.
Police say that Kroger loss prevention officials conducted an internal investigation after Mobley admitted to refunding unpaid items to his own cards. It was determined that Mobley had received approximately $800 from this process.
Mobley was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking ($500 or More, but Under $10,000).
