Former American Idol contestant involved in fatal Rockcastle County collision

Former American Idol contestant and rising country music star Alex Miller was involved in a crash on Tuesday night while traveling back home from a vacation.

Miller, his father, and several band members were said to be traveling on South Wilderness Road in Rockcastle County when an SUV veered into the path of their tour bus. According to Kentucky State Police, the SUV was driven by 53-year-old James M. McPheron of Mount Vernon. Following the head-on collision, McPheron was transported to Rockcastle Regional Hospital by EMS, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

In a statement made to WBON, Miller said that nobody on the tour bus was injured during the crash. He also stated he was sending his thoughts and prayers to McPheron’s family.
