Those in the area who have low or fixed income can now possibly receive assistance through a program for their heating bills here in Madison County.
Wbontv spoke with Raejean Miller, the Service Coordinator of Madison County KY River Foothills branch. Miller gave us a lot of insight on the program LIHEAP, an energy assistance opportunity for low-income consumers.
Those wishing to receive help paying these utilities can apply, whether renters or homeowners.
Appointments must be scheduled, and can receive the energy assistance benefit for gas, electric, kerosene, even propane, coal, or wood. The amount received is based on the level of poverty of the recipient.
