While Laurel sheriff’s deputies were investigating area thefts and burglaries in western Laurel County this Saturday afternoon, they located a wounded and captured owl being held in a cage on a property off Rooks Road approximately 10 miles west of London.
Deputies notified Laurel County animal control, who retrieved the owl to care for temporarily pending Kentucky fish and wildlife intervention. Deputies noted apparently the owl had been shot and had a visible injury to a wing. Deputies located the owl following a foot pursuit of a suspect in the area there.
