Area fire fighters are dealing with many reports of fires getting out of control over the last several days. Most a result of people disregarding the spring fire season, and the restrictions to burning during the period.
These warm, dry and windy spring days are creating conditions for high wildfire danger. The Division of Forestry staff are working hard this evening to suppress a wildfire in Madison and Rockcastle Counties, and other fires are burning across the state. Please remember and help spread the word, during spring fire season, it’s illegal to burn within 150 feet of woodland areas between the hours of 6:00am-6:00pm. Let’s work together to keep our citizens safe and our forests healthy.
