Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal fire this morning in Bath County. KSP, Post 8, Morehead received a call for assistance from the Bath County Dispatch this morning. The fire occurred on Old Sands Road in Bath County.
During the course of the investigation, human remains were located inside the residence. The remains have been sent to the state medical examiner’s office for identification. Cheryl Fields, 70 years of age from Owingsville, KY was able to make it out of the residence. She was transported to St. Claire Healthcare for treatment of her injuries by Bath County EMS. KSP was assisted by Bath County Sheriff’s Department, Bath County Fire Department, Bath County EMS and Bath County Coroner’s Office. This incident is being investigated by Kentucky State Police, Morehead.
