Yesterday, Wednesday August 16, 2023, Stanton Police captured the man who had eluded authorities for about 2 days. Police had alerted the public to be on the lookout for the suspect in the Maple Street, Holman Drive, Pamela Drive, and Riverview Drive area on Monday. Those tips from the public is what helped officials locate and arrest Lonnie Schooley of Lexington yesterday afternoon. That’s when a resident of Morris Creek noticed items out of place around her building.
Schooley was located hiding inside the building and taken into custody.
Schooley is facing multiple felony charges.
