Farristown Middle School in Madison County was placed on a brief lock down this morning, Monday November 13, 2023, due to an incident in the nearby vicinity.
Berea Police Department tell WBON-TV9 they were dispatched around 9 a.m. to The Berea AppHarvest location where a man apparently accidentally shot himself in the leg. The man stated he was his vehicle checking the firearm for safety when it accidentally discharged.
The man was quickly transported to UK Hospital for treatment and is expected to be ok. Officers say no charges are expected in the matter and the school was soon taken off lockdown after the “all clear.”
