Richmond Police were called to investigate a possible burglary attempt in the Hill Street area on Tuesday morning. When they arrived on the scene, the suspect had already fled.
Allegedly, the suspect, 41-year-old Jeff King had attempted to break into a home after asking the victim if he could use her phone. Upon the attempted entry, the victim’s dog reportedly jumped on the door, closing King out of the home.
According to the citation, King continued attempting to enter the residence before fleeing the area.
Witnesses reportedly notified authorities that King had ran past them towards a wooded area. Upon further reading of the citation, officers were able to track King along a nearby creek where he became entangled in a barbed-wire fence.
King was then arrested and transferred to the Madison County Detention Center, where he was charged with Attempted Burglary and Fleeing Police.
