A post on FB by an elected official, containing erroneous weather information this morning, has created a bit of public alarm in Estill County.
The post says the Kentucky River is expected to crest at 40 feet, which would be historic and devastating flood levels. The post has created an increase level of calls to 911 and EMA, and anxiety for many in the county.
The latest forecast and predictions from the weather service in Jackson, has actually reduced the expected cresting water level in the area to 34.1. Other county officials emphasize that is the data they rely on.
The post has since been corrected.

Just earlier today, President Trump officially approved Governor Andy Beshears emergency declaration. Federal funding will now be available for those impacted and the impacted areas.
