Pregnancy and parenthood can be overwhelming, and that’s exactly why the Madison County Health Department partnered with the program HANDS.
A voluntary home visitation program for moms, dads, and families, HANDS answers the questions for families that are new to the baby life. They provide resources and information for families during home nurse visits with the goal to provide parents with support to help develop a better parent-child relationship, at no cost to the family.
Wbontv spoke with HANDS program coordinator Ava Wright, who told us what a home visit from one of her nurses entails. She also gives tips on how to become enrolled in the program and what makes you eligible for the services they provide.
