According to Estill Animal Shelter Director Amy Walters, the euth date originally set for this Thursday has been canceled as of this morning.
Walters says this is due in large part to rescues and adoptions that moved the more than 30 dogs out of the overcrowded shelter, or plan to as of press time one team is on their way to the shelter on Ginter Lane in Ravenna. Walters says she has not had to go through with a euthanization date since she has taken the position at the shelter. Social media presence has helped to get the animals rescued usually days before the set date so that it ends up being canceled.
However, there are still many cats and dogs looking for their fur-ever homes at the shelter, so check out the full story on the live at five newscast this afternoon on channel nine and wbontv socials to get more information.
